Post–Rave Melancholy by Michael Priest

There you are, at your favorite rave, having the time of your life. Eyes closed. Light-headed. Smile on your face. Slightly sweaty after hours of non-stop dancing, you are starting to have THE feeling that it's probably time to finally go home. It's really difficult to leave this environment, where everything seems possible and where you don't have to think about all the hassle from the 'real' world. Echoes of the pumping bass drum are accompanyig you on your way home. You are already missing those flashing lights, ecstatic bodies and hazy vision. I'm really sorry. All the beats, acid basslines and earworm melodies are fading in and out. You can't really sleep yet. A warm feeling kicks in after the quick shower which gave you a promise of having a nice and energizing sleep. Sometimes it goes easy and well and sometimes it's a vivid nightmare. All you know is that you want to go and get back there as soon as possible. This is your post-rave melancholy.

Listen to it.

"Last year Juris from the Plnka series asked me if I'd be open to play a special ambient/beatless set before Ben Vince. I was intrigued by this idea as it would be something out of my comfort zone and at the same time I'd be able to play tracks I don't have a chance to play that often. I decided to create this concept of a soundtrack of sounds which echoes in you head the last hour before you fall asleep."
